Position Summary
The Inventory Transfer Driver plays a critical role in keeping Heath’s operations running smoothly across locations. Based at our Bryant Street warehouse, this position leads inventory receiving while sharing responsibility for intercompany inventory transfers, including a scheduled monthly overnight trip to our Los Angeles Showroom. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and care in handling goods that represent the Heath brand.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead all receiving activities at the Bryant Street warehouse, including inspecting, sorting, and unpacking inbound shipments with accuracy and care.
- Coordinate with Warehouse, QC, Showroom, and Production teams to ensure timely communication of incoming materials and inventory availability.
- Prepare, stage, and load pallets and outbound shipments while maintaining organized and efficient warehouse flow.
- Complete inventory transfer runs between Bay Area locations and Los Angeles, including a scheduled overnight trip approximately once per month.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload goods safely while maintaining accurate transfer documentation and driving logs.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Track in-transit inventory and reusable packing materials to ensure accountability and minimize loss.
- Maintain cleanliness, upkeep, and safe operating condition of company vehicles.
- Support warehouse operations by assisting with picking, packing, transfer preparation, and processing related documentation when transfer demands allow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–3 years of warehouse, receiving, driving or inventory transfer experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to follow established safety procedures and operational processes
- Clear communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Valid California Driver’s License with clean DMV record required
- Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain)
- Experience working with warehouse systems (NetSuite experience a plus)
Physical and mental demands.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs regularly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
- Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently
- Operating a flatbed truck and forklift safely
- Driving for extended periods, including a monthly overnight trip to Los Angeles
- Reading labels, transfer documents, and inventory paperwork accurately
- Maintaining attention to detail when handling inventory and operating equipment
Visual Acuity Requirements
Requires close visual acuity to inspect shipments for accuracy and damage, complete documentation, and safely operate vehicles and forklifts.
Work Environment/ Hours / Compensation
This position is a full-time, non-exempt role. The hours for this position are 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with an overnight trip to LA approximately once a month. The hourly rate for the position is $31.50.
