We’re seeking a new member of the Heath Creative team to focus on Heath Tile, supporting the business through creative communications, engagement with customers, and unearthing opportunities for growth. This role is someone who’s excited about Heath’s point of view, and can help us deliver those stories and messages externally. The ideal candidate is also versed in the trade world, understanding how to best engage and interest clientele ranging from architects, designers, and chefs, to design savvy shoppers and homeowners. They’ll support Heath Tile as a business that’s solid enough to exist independently, while benefiting from Heath’s overall brand strength.
We are seeking a design-minded communicator — a proven copywriter with excellent writing skills, impeccable grammar, and a flair for storytelling. This individual is naturally in-sync with Heath’s tone, look, and feel, and they appreciate Heath’s organic, yet intense, environment; be able to turn on a dime; and get a thrill from making something from nothing. The focus on Tile will update our communications efforts and give the business a dedicated voice that is felt by our customers and audience, with opportunities including but not limited to our monthly tile newsletters, social media, website, and other communications assets.
This position will also closely partner with our team of tile specialists, acquiring expert and intimate knowledge of Heath Tile history, business, clientele, and product. Along with producing compelling, overarching communications for Tile, this role will also facilitate and create opportunities for sales and relationships. They’ll have an eye on opportunities to engage the community ensuring we’re fulfilling customer needs, while creating inspiring content. It’s critical that this person intimately knows our vast library of tile images, and those incoming (from press, social media, and our customers), with a creative and organized sensibility of how to best share them, whether in our communications or for the tile team’s sales inquiries. Foundationally, they have a sensitivity and understanding of Heath’s visual language. This position is an exciting opportunity to craft how we respond to the incredible user generated content we receive from Heath Tile, and fostering collaborations with key partners.
This role reports to the Senior Communications Manager and partners with design, web, tile specialists, and retail. The ability to coordinate and collaborate with others at multiple staff levels and departments, and the ability to work independently when needed is extremely important. This role is an exciting opportunity to specialize in, and shape, how Heath Tile evolves.
_ Must be willing and able to develop expert knowledge about our tile, its history, how it’s made, and an eye for what makes for a good Heath tile installation
_ Copywriting for all Heath Tile: product descriptions, printed collateral, website, and showroom signage, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and relevance. Shedding light on other helpful tools to create and opportunities to streamline.
_ Creating monthly tile newsletters with engaging content and building our following, collaborating with the communications, design, and product teams, and staying on top of plans as listed in the editorial calendar and other key planning documents and sources.
_ Managing the strategy, content, and growth of Heath Tile social media channels, namely Instagram and Houzz. Consistent social media posts and follower engagement, growing our follower numbers
_ Expert knowledge of our deep image library and having an eye for which incoming images we can creatively utilize in our communications or sales. Overseeing strategic purchases and updates for our image database, and partners with Graphic Designer to determine and share tile images most representative of Heath’s aesthetic and point of view.
_ Build a working knowledge of the tile industry and customers, gathering and sharing analytics with the Heath Creative and Tile teams, and implementing learnings on a regular basis
_ Highlighting opportunities to better engage with customers and potential collaborators, from real-time responses on social media, sharing user generated content, engaging with trade at industry events
_ Building foundational marketing program for tile so we have a strong, consistent business, to handle volume and growth
_ Create and support trade and product events as needed
_ Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years experience in communications and marketing
_ Versed in trade, residential, architecture, design industries, comfortable interacting with both DIY customers and Design Trade
_ Advanced writing, grammar, spelling, editing and English skills with a creative flair. Experience in writing across multiple contexts (web, in-store, collateral, direct)
_ A flair for social media, email marketing, website content, and database/image management systems
_ Experience working in an in-house creative environment, and collaborating with different departments.
