This is a newly created addition to staff to support our growing design trade sales business in San Francisco. The Trade Sales Rep enjoys beautiful, useful quality products, and who possess an affinity for great craft and design. Success in this role depends on the ability to listen to customers, and help them turn their design ideas into reality with your thorough understanding of all Heath products. This role will play an important part in showroom sales and operations in collaboration with showroom managers. The incumbent must be responsive, organized and flexible. Tuesday through Saturday schedule.
Our clientele at Heath ranges from architects and designers to chefs, design savvy shoppers, out-of-towners and gift registrants. Our ideal candidate has an open, friendly demeanor, an appreciation for Heath Ceramics and an eagerness to learn more about the rich history of our company and designs. They will have an eye for detail and will be able to create a store environment that surprises and delights our customers each time they walk through our doors. They will assist customers in person, by phone and via email. In addition to talking about how Heath tile is made, they are also expected to have substantial knowledge about how our dinnerware is made.
Essential Job Functions
Designer Sales and Tile Responsibilities
_ Build a working knowledge of the design industry within assigned trade territory and share information on a regular basis.
_ Engage in outreach efforts to the local SF design industry, coordinate private Trade Tours for SF Mission location, support showroom events/shows through trade relationships and outreach.
_ Must be willing and able to develop substantial knowledge about how Heath tile and dinnerware are made, able to tell the Heath story; to work with the company ordering systems across all product categories and to understand pricing and cost management expectations
_ Strong inter-departmental communication and cooperation is required with Showroom Sales Specialists, Tile Specialists, Tile Production, Tile Logistics, and Shipping
_ Assist Design trade and showroom customers in store with layout, color and functionality
_ Ensure all orders have complete information while providing a thoughtful and enjoyable customer experience
_ Must be highly responsive to all customers and acknowledge all inquiries within 12- 24 hours, following up on shipped orders to promote client relationship building
SAP & Systems
_ Quote, Convert and Track orders of tile and dinnerware in SAP
_ Update orders with new information
_ Must be systems savvy- We will train on SAP B1
Showroom Related Basic Functions:
_ Creates a positive first impression with showroom customers
_ Exhibits an authentic and friendly approach to initiating conversation
_ Is fully knowledgeable about all Heath and Heath Home products
_ Implements storytelling to inspire clients to enjoy our products and company vision, Heath’s philosophy and history
_ Develops long-term relationships with clients
_ Possesses agility to deal with diverse customers in a calm and thoughtful manner
_ Accepts and takes initiative to complete store routines, housekeeping and store presentation
_ Helps to ensure strong awareness of ticketing and inventory integrity for all product
_ Understands all transaction types within the POS system and ensures 100% accuracy in all tender types, including cash and charge transactions-demonstrate strong data integrity
_ Maintain overall appearance and organization of the sales floor and employee areas, pricing, shipment processing, restocking and light cleaning
_ Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
_ Ability to lift, reach and grasp 30 lbs of ceramic dinnerware/tile and to push/pull carts and bins of merchandise repeatedly throughout the day
_ Daily showroom activities, including processing of shipments, merchandising product, and order fulfillments

In the heart of San Francisco’s Northeast Mission neighborhood, and at the center of a creative campus that houses our Heath retail showroom and viewing court area, is our tile factory. You can get a sneak peek of the workings from various points in the building, but you shouldn’t miss the full factory tour in person.
This full-time position has a Tuesday through Saturday schedule.
