Position Summary

We are looking for a Tile Specialist to ensure all trade orders are managed with the highest degree of professionalism and a “full cycle” approach from quotation to production to completion, including delivery to the customer. Success in this role is about ownership and drive. It requires a dedication to excellent customer service and relationship building, a “no-stone-left-unturned” approach to details, and a passion for tile and good design. 

It is essential to deeply understand our clients’ needs to help them select the ideal tile for their particular project. Heath Tile Specialists communicate the unique glaze variations and material characteristics of our tile. In doing so, they appropriately set client expectations throughout the sales order process, resulting in successful installations and strong business relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Usher client tile projects from quote through installation assisting with layout, color and functionality 
  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally to facilitate strategic business development
  • Make presentations to clients, servicing a variety of local and out-of-state trade accounts (architecture/design/construction) and homeowners within a designated territory
  • Engage in outreach efforts to the local design industry: coordinate private Trade Tours, occasional site-visits, support showroom events through trade relationships and outreach (as Covid restrictions allow)
  • Participate in staff training, sharing knowledge and information with showroom staff 
  • Maintain the highest standard in appearance and organization of the Showroom tile area

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in tile, flooring, or building material sales
  • 3+ years of design trade account management experience, preferably with made-to-order and custom products 
  • Ability to develop substantial knowledge about how Heath tile is made
  • Highly responsive customer service skills that compel you above and beyond to make things right for the customer 
  • People and problem solving skills that allow you to get out in front of problems and proactively help customers with potential issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills 

System and Software Requirements

  • Must be systems and computer savvy
  • Prior experience with SAP, Netsuite or other ERP software 
  • Google Office
  • Tandem Vault (photography collateral sharing)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, reach and grasp 50 lbs of ceramic tile/dinnerware and to push/pull carts and bins of merchandise repeatedly throughout the day
  • Visual acuity to determine the color, accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned

Work Environment/ Hours / Compensation

This is a full-time, (5 days/week) salaried role Monday - Friday, working in both our LA Showroom and remote from home. Work schedule and location may change according to team coverage, business needs, and company policies. This position pays $58,000 - $68,000 annually depending on experience. Only Los Angeles Area candidates will be considered. 

Some travel for client outreach (local, in-state, and out-of-state) may be required at a time when company policy includes travel clearance.
