Graphic Designer, Systems

Role Summary

The Graphic Designer, Systems at Heath supports the design and logistics of visual communication systems across Heath – collateral and signage programs, product packaging and graphics, digital assets like imagery and icons – and ensures continuity, accuracy, and a high standard of design. They also understand how to frame problems and ask the right questions, develop the process and approach for tackling a design problem, and effectively influence and enable cross-functional collaboration. They have a strong understanding of how a vertically integrated company, and the teams within it – from retail to shipping to facilities – operate, and operate together. They ask:

What’s the goal? What’s the problem to be solved, both today and tomorrow? What’s the design intent?

How can this work be done smartly and with a high level of execution, in line with our design language?

Who needs to be involved – when, and how?

What tools or systems are needed to execute this well, and on time?

How do we ensure that the process is sustainable (operationally, environmentally)?

This role operates under the guidance of the Creative Systems Designer and in close partnership with the Graphic Designer. The ability to coordinate and collaborate with others at multiple staff levels and the ability to work independently when needed is extremely important. They must be willing to get their hands dirty, chase down details, drive results, and thrive in Heath’s organic, yet intense, environment. They can turn on dime, get a thrill from making something from nothing, and always find ways to add value, no matter how unconventional.
